Welcome to Photo Expressions – unique photography as seen through the lens of Joyce V. Buckley.

About the Photographer . . .

Joyce Buckley got her first camera – a Brownie Hawkeye – when she was ten years old and has loved taking pictures ever since.

Joyce’s passion for variety is seen in the photos that she takes. She enjoys taking candid pictures of her family and pets, but also has an eye for beautiful landscapes. A resident of Maine, she has a generous canvas to choose from. Red-roofed lighthouses standing on the granite Maine coast, flowers in full bloom, covered bridges in an old New England town, a winter sun split by a shadowed tree, a homestead taken from atop a ridge with purple mountains in the distance, waterfalls slpashing into a peaceful river.

Her idea of a good picture is one with depth, unusual light, details, shadows and lots of color. She loves to take pictures in winter and autum because of the contrasts of white and black and wonderful fall shades.

Joyce says that her photography makes her appreciate the beautiful world God has created. She feels priveledged to be able to capture some of it. Appreciate her art, but don’t call her an artist, she says, she claims to be the photographer capturing the art that has already been created.

Joyce is a retired school teacher of 28 years and currently a substitute teacher. She enjoys her family, the outdoors, travel, and is active in her church.

You can see her photography displayed and for sale at The Odd Shop in Windham, Maine.
